　　难以置信，但却是千真万确，由手机铃声演化而成的 Crazy Frog 单曲“Axel F”，竟然可以打败酷玩乐团的最新单曲“Speed Of Sound”，登上英国单曲榜冠军，在这之前，Crazy Frog 的铃声下载也高居英国铃声下载的冠军，被视为是新世代数位音乐压倒主流音乐的现象。

　　到底谁是 Crazy Frog 呢？这得回溯至 1997 年，才十七岁的瑞典人 Daniel Malmedahl 用电脑所录下跟朋友模仿发动引擎的叮叮叫声音，并把这段录音放上网页后，也被一个“疯狂测试”的网站用这段声音搭配 F1 赛车画面，以挑战试听者能不能“听了不能笑”。2003年，Malmedahl 的朋友，电脑绘图设计师 Erik Wernquist 从这段乐曲得到灵感，以诙谐方式画出一只青蛙，上了蓝灰色与大凸眼，再画上一部机车随行，把它命名为“讨厌的东西” (The Annoying Thing) 放上网页，连同 Malmedahl 的声响让人下载。2004 年德国电讯公司 Jamster 把青蛙连同声音一同登上广告，以“Crazy Frog”之名闯荡英国，开始吵遍全英国以促销手机下载铃声。起笑蛙一副酷装扮，像人一样以双腿站立，下体还出现一个小小的男性生殖器。

　　这只你今年不可不认识的话题非人类 Crazy Frog，终于要在今年夏天来台发疯，而台湾唱片公司，特地给了他一个十分贴切的中文名称 —— 起笑蛙 (Crazy Frog)。起笑蛙在 2005 年 5 月中以单曲形式发行第一支单曲疯狂叮叮“Axel F”以将近 5 万的销售成绩，以 4 倍之多的销售，打败酷玩乐团的最新单曲“Speed Of Sound”，登上英国单曲榜冠军。这只有着惊人大嘴、凹肚脐凸肚、不对称绿眼珠、四肢短小、身上有不规则墨绿色胎记，手指脚指加总共12根、戴着飞行员安全帽、骑着隐形摩托车的起笑蛙，创造出无限的商机，不外乎是今年最具话题的新人。
